【Private】Kintsugi
”New beauty” created by taking good care of things
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese restoration technique in which broken, chipped, cracked or otherwise damaged areas of ceramics and porcelain are glued together with lacquer and decorated with gold or other metal powder. Guests can easily experience traditional KINTSUGI using simple modern repair techniques. We have requested supervision from Kamakura-Bori Niyodo Mr. Kenyu Mitsuhashi, who is involved in various efforts to pass on the lacquerware culture to the next generation, and our hotel staff acquired KINTSUGI instructor certification.

金継ぎとは、割れや欠け、ヒビなどの陶磁器の破損部分を漆によって接着し、金などの金属粉で装飾して仕上げる日本の伝統的な修復技法です。現代の簡易的な修理技法を使用して、伝統的な金継ぎを気軽に体験できます。次世代への漆芸文化継承に様々な取り組みを行っている鎌倉彫弍陽堂三橋鎌幽氏に監修を依頼し、ホテルスタッフが金継ぎのインストラクター認定を修得し、漆を使わない初心者でも安心な簡易金継ぎ体験をお届けいたします。お子様や、カップル、お友達とお気軽にご参加いただけます。
