Shiba district in Tokyo is a place where you can still feel the wind of Edo-era. Shiba Park Hotel is a good old hotel that has weaved its way through time in harmony with the traditions and culture of this area. Shiba Park Hotel is also a library hotel with a diverse collection of books. We hold an exhibition called “Tale of Artisans” which tell stories of traditions (tales) that they have developed and nurtured.

In the tale of artisans Vol.8 with the theme of “Minori”, we introduce two crafts, “Koshu inden” with its fruit-like coloring, and “Tokyo picture frame” that bring out the various charms of works of art. The colors of the harvest will bring you an abundant time. Please enjoy yourself as long as time permits.

Blissful Afternoon Tea

This is the eighth collaboration with the traditional crafts and culture developed by the Tale of Artisans. Hanasansho of Japanese cuisine uses dried persimmons to express the traditional Koshu inden technique of deerskin lacquer patterns. Brasserie Primula of Western cuisine also uses the texture of Koshu inden to create a colorful crepe. And at Peking of Chinese cuisine, we prepared a frame almond cookie in the shape of a Tokyo picture frame, which expresses a new sense of design in line with the times. Please take your time to enjoy these sweets filled with the thoughts of our artisans.

3 Chefs' Signature Course

The restaurant The Dining offers a special course that includes discerning dishes of Japanese “Hanasansho”, Western “Primula”, and Chinese “Peking.” The dish inspired by the traditional craft “Tokyo picture frame” introduced in this exhibition is a dish from the Chinese cuisine Peking, grilled shrimp wrapped in yuba, which is inspired by the decorative shape of a picture frame. For dessert, lemon custard is wrapped in a crepe to imitate the colors of “Koshu inden”. Please enjoy the dishes that are perfect for the season of Minori.
